If you want to live in Bay View, now might just be your chance. The former site of Swigs Pub on Grill (3143 S. Clement Ave.) is now listed for $260,000. To put that number in perspective, the typical home value in Bay View, according to Zillow, where the bar is listed, is $239,734. Plus, the bar, built in 1942, comes with an attached two-bedroom home in the back, along with a garage.
The bar has a strong neighborhood feel, a pool table, and a spacious wraparound bar in the middle, along with a kitchen and a basement. This listing comes amidst an absolutely red-hot market in Milwaukee real estate, particularly in Bay View, where houses easily get up to the $500,000 range and are off the market in days (six median days in 2020), often with multiple offers on the table. “In some locations, we’re down to zero inventory,” says Suzanne Powers about the area. “In my 20-year career, I’ve never seen inventory like this.
